Job summary

Okta is seeking a Staff Site Reliability Engineer to shape our Dublin/EMEA Kubernetes platform and drive reliability at scale. You will lead architectural decisions, coordinate with US/India teams, and own complex incidents while mentoring engineers across the Dublin team.

You will guide platform readiness for AI-driven workflows, implement SLOs and on-call standards, and advance IaC, CI/CD, and release processes in a fast-growing, global environment.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience in SRE/Platform or Infra Engineering with staff-level leadership
• Hands-on expertise in Kubernetes at production scale, multi-tenancy, networking, security
• Experience running large-scale internal infrastructure in a public cloud (AWS preferred)
• Strong knowledge of cloud-native architectures, Terraform, and CI/CD pipelines
• Experience with AI/ML workflows hosting, model serving, or orchestration frameworks
• Observability mastery with Grafana/Splunk/APM in large environments
• Ability to influence technical direction across teams and geographies
• Excellent verbal and written communication; mentoring and alignment across distributed teams
• CS degree or equivalent experience

Responsibilities

• Own architecture and evolution of Kubernetes platform for Dublin/EMEA
• Lead design and rollout of self-service platform capabilities and self-healing patterns
• Drive readiness to host AI-driven internal workflows at scale
• Own high-ambiguity reliability problems and drive incident postmortems
• Participate in follow-the-sun on-call rotation with US/India teams
• Set SLIs/SLOs, error budgets, and on-call standards
• Improve SDLC for infrastructure-as-code, CI/CD maturity, and release management
• Mentor engineers and raise technical standards through reviews and design discussions
• Collaborate with security, product, and architecture to align infra decisions
• Represent Dublin/EMEA in global platform architecture discussions
