Job summary

Johnson & Johnson is seeking a Supply Chain Engineering lead focused on automation to drive manufacturing efficiency. You will lead projects for automated solutions, adhere to EH&S policies, GAMP 5, and good engineering practice to achieve business objectives.

You will guide a highly skilled team, travel globally, and act as a subject matter expert in controls/software, process automation, and project management to deliver first-of-a-kind solutions.

Qualifications

  • Mechanical/Process/Chemical engineering degree with 5+ years in medical device or pharmaceutical industry.
  • Experience in high-speed automation including vision systems, multi-axis motion control, machine smart controls, SCADA, MES and robotics.
  • Ability to develop detailed project plans that acknowledge risk for 1st of a kind solutions.
  • Experience of external supplier selection & management.
  • Good communication and teamwork skills.
  • Knowledge of GAMP 5 Process Validation requirements.
  • Six Sigma practical experience.
  • Experience with internal stakeholder management and communication.
  • Coaching & mentoring junior engineering staff.
  • Knowledge of Design for Manufacture & Design for Assembly methods.
  • Chartered professional engineer or local equivalent.
  • Experience in technology development in engineering or R&D settings.
  • Extensive experience working with external organisations.

Responsibilities

Job Description
POSITION SUMMARY

Provide technical leadership in the development of new/existing products, processes/systems to drive manufacturing efficiency. Serve as a project lead for automated manufacturing solutions, adhering to the environmental health and safety policies, GAMP 5 methodology and good engineering practice to achieve business objectives

Essential Functions / Responsibilities
  • Responsible for the early lifecycle management of capital projects: technical risk mitigation, requirements definition, supplier selection, supplier management, equipment design oversight, acceptance testing & installation.
  • Will be held accountable for time, quality & cost performance on assigned projects.
  • Will be part of a highly skilled engineering team with an expectation to travel extensively, globally, to support the business.
  • Will be a subject matter expert in one or more areas including controls/software design & development, process automation, computerized systems implementation process engineering, project management.
Qualifications

Required

  • A mechanical, process, chemical engineering degree (or similar) with application experience (5+ years) within the medical device or pharmaceutical industry
  • Project management expertise within the field of high-speed automation, including vision systems, high-speed multi-axis motion control, machine smart controls, SCADA, MES and robotics
  • Ability to develop detailed project plans that acknowledge the risk associated with developing 1st of a kind solution
  • Experience of external supplier selection & management
  • Good communication and teamwork skills
  • Working knowledge of GAMP 5 Process Validation requirements
  • Process Excellence (Six Sigma) practical experience
  • Experience of internal stakeholder management & communication Desirable
  • Coaching & mentoring junior members of engineering staff
  • Working knowledge of Design for Manufacture & Design for Assembly methodology
  • Chartered professional engineer or local equivalent
  • Previous working experience in technology development before either in an engineering function or R&D setting.
  • Should have extensive experience working with external organisations, be that research entities or third-party equipment suppliers.
  • Ideally have a broad-based understanding of mechanical, electrical & controls engineering disciplines, with a slant towards mechanical & design engineering from an automated process equipment perspective.

The Anticipated Base Pay Range For This Position Is

€63,300.00 - €101,315.00
