Johnson & Johnson Vision Care (Ireland) Limited in Limerick is seeking a Manufacturing Engineering Team Lead (METL) to support Operations Management in producing contact lenses within the Value Stream. You will work with Engineering, Quality and Operations to ensure safe, compliant manufacturing that meets global planning requirements and drives continuous improvement.

You will lead the Repack team, uphold safety and quality standards, and mentor supervisory staff while delivering year-on-year

Qualifications

• QQI Level 7+ in Management or Technical qualification desirable.
• Experience in a supervisory role.
• Ability to demonstrate standards of leadership – Managing Complexity, Innovations, Customer Focus.
• Technical or people/team management qualification.
• Project Management skills / Lean manufacturing / Six Sigma desirable.
• Good influencing skills at all levels (supervisor/direct report).

• Lead and mentor supervisory and operations personnel and develop people.
• Lead projects for the Production Unit and across the full Operations function where relevant.
• Report on achievement of key performance metrics.
• Support transfer of new products and processes into manufacturing.

Purpose

The Manufacturing Engineering Team Lead (METL) supports Operations Management in the production of contact lenses in the Value Stream. Working closely with Engineering, Quality and Operations Line management, the role will have direct responsibility for managing key areas of the Operations Services Value Stream to support the production of a range of Medical Devices to fulfil global planning schedules, within determined quality and safety standards.

As an METL, you will:

• Support the Production Unit in close cooperation with Quality and Engineering, to manufacture Medical Devices according to global planning requirements.
• Lead the Repack team to meet global planning requirements.
• Ensure all Safety and Quality Standards are upheld top the highest possible standard.
• Lead Inspections department for compliance and output.
• Lead year on year efficiency improvement and activity reduction.
• Build and maintain an environment of innovative continuous improvement, focusing on quality, cost reduction, process development and supply.
• Lead & mentor supervisory and operations personnel and developing people at all levels to grow within and beyond their current role.
• Lead specific projects for the Production Unit and across the full Operations function where relevant.
• Report on achievement of key performance metrics.
• Support all functions in the effective transfer of new products and processes into manufacturing processes.
• Ensure that housekeeping standards are maintained at all times across the Value Stream - always looking for opportunities to improve the standard.

Qualification/Requirements:

• A QQI Level 7 and above in Management or Technical qualification or related discipline is desirable.
• Experience in a similar supervisory role.
• Ability to demonstrate standards of leadership – Managing Complexity, Innovations, Customer Focus.
• Technical or people/team management qualification.
• Project Management Skills / Experience with Lean Manufacturing processes/Six Sigma is desirable.

The anticipated base pay range for this position is: €52,400.00 - €82,915.00
