Job summary

LauraLynn, Ireland’s Children’s Hospice, invites applications for a Staff Nurse to cover maternity leave in Dublin. The role is on-site, full-time and permanent under a specified purpose contract, with a competitive salary scale and supportive paediatric care team.

The successful candidate will be NMBI-registered (RCN/RGN/RNID) with paediatric experience, participate in extensive in-house training and wellbeing supports, and contribute to family-centered care in a dynamic setting.

Qualifications

• NMBI registration as RCN/RGN/RNID.
• 3+ years post-qualification paediatric or life-limiting care experience.
• 5 years in paediatric paediatric setting for RGN/RNID role.
• Degree in Nursing or currently completing a degree.
• Working knowledge of information technology.
• Experience in interdisciplinary team work.
• Ability to work independently.

Hours: Full-time (37.5 hrs per week). Part-time hours may be considered.

Salary/Grade: Staff Nurse: €38,166 - €56,592/ ENP Scale: €45,259 - €58,424 as of 01st June 2026 pay scales

Essential Criteria - ideally the successful candidate will possess the following:

• Fully registered with the NMBI as an RCN, RGN or RNID
• RCN’s require a minimum of 3 years post qualification experience working in a paediatric setting, acute or community setting with children or young people with complex/life-limiting nursing and palliative care needs
• RGN’s/ RNID’s require a minimum of 5 years’ experience, working in a paediatric setting with children or young people with complex/life-limiting nursing and palliative care needs
• Hold a Degree in Nursing or be in the process of completing a degree
• Working knowledge of information technology
• Experience of working within an interdisciplinary team
• Ability to work independently
• Demonstrable experience of working with children with complex conditions and palliative care needs and their families
