Qualifications

• Registered General Nurse with current NMBI registration.
• Post-registration nursing experience, preferably in a surgical setting.
• Experience in Endoscopy or Flexible Cystoscopy desirable.

• Flexible approach to rotating day shifts.

Responsibilities

• Deliver safe, effective nursing care in accordance with hospital policies.
• Participate in assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of patient care.
• Support discharge planning and ensure continuity of care.
• Administer medications, IV drugs, blood, and controlled drugs safely.
• Monitor patients, document condition and report adverse events.
• Adhere to infection prevention and control standards.
• Collaborate with Infection Control Nurse and MDT to ensure safety.
• Handle waste management per guidelines.

RecruitNet International Ltd specialises in healthcare recruitment for both domestic and overseas candidates, supporting hospitals, nursing homes, home care and community care services. We are currently recruiting a Staff Nurse – Endoscopy to join our client’s hospital in Galway, Ireland. Full-Time | 37.5 Hours per Week | Permanent Contract

Responsibilities

Deliver safe, effective and high-quality nursing care and treatments in accordance with established hospital policies, procedures and clinical guidelines.

Participate in the comprehensive assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of patient care using the nursing process, while maintaining accurate and timely clinical documentation.

Support effective discharge planning by identifying and addressing individual patient care requirements and ensuring appropriate continuity of care.

Administer prescribed medications, intravenous drugs, blood and blood products, and controlled drugs safely and in accordance with hospital policies and professional standards.

Monitor patients following the administration of medications and treatments, document their condition and promptly report any adverse reactions, incidents or medication errors.

Comply with best-practice infection prevention and control standards and promptly identify, manage and report infections in line with hospital procedures.

Work closely with the Infection Control Nurse and wider multidisciplinary team to promote and maintain high standards of infection prevention and patient safety.

Ensure the safe handling, segregation and disposal of medical and clinical waste in accordance with hospital policies and relevant guidelines.

Requirements

Registered General Nurse (RGN) with current NMBI registration or eligibility for registration in the General Nurse Division

Post-registration nursing experience, preferably within a surgical setting

Previous experience in Endoscopy or Flexible Cystoscopy procedures is desirable

Strong ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team while delivering high-quality patient care

Demonstrated personal and professional accountability for the delivery of safe and effective nursing care

Excellent interpersonal, communication and teamwork skills

Flexible approach to working patterns, with the ability to work rotating day shifts
