Job summary

European Tech Recruit is seeking a Staff Software Engineer to lead Linux-based system software for next-generation data centre and secure computing platforms in Ireland. The role focuses on host-side software, drivers, and performance tuning for AI inference accelerators and TEEs.

You will collaborate with hardware, firmware, hypervisor and cloud teams, mentor engineers, and support customer deployments. EU relocation is offered and onsite in Cork, Ireland.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of experience in system/software engineering or closely related fields.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop and optimise Linux user-space software, libraries and kernel-adjacent drivers using modern C++.
• Lead development of host software stacks supporting AI inference and secure computing workloads.
• Design and implement unit, integration and system-level testing frameworks for CI environments.
• Lead functional testing, performance validation and debugging of host software and drivers.
• Integrate host software with TEEs, confidential VMs and VM-based workloads.
• Enable secure PCIe device assignment, SR-IOV and container- or VM-based workloads.
• Optimise software for high-performance AI inference and low-latency workloads.
• Lead design reviews and mentor engineers across hardware, firmware, hypervisor and cloud teams.
• Support customer deployments and resolve complex system-level issues.
