Job summary

Analog Devices, Inc. is seeking an experienced physical design engineer for its Consumer Product development team. The role involves developing mixed-signal subsystems and carrying out floorplanning, synthesis and verification across offices in Valencia, Cork or Limerick.

With 10+ years in digital implementation and strong scripting skills (Tcl, SKILL, Perl), you will own large digital subsystems and collaborate with RTL teams to meet timing and power goals.

Qualifications

• B.Tech/M.Tech in EE/ECE with 10+ years of digital implementation experience.
• Strong knowledge in floor planning, place & route, CTS, STA, ECO methodology, power analysis and physical design verification.
• Broad experience in synthesis and timing constraints.
• Experience with 40nm digital implementation is essential.
• Scripting skills in Tcl, SKILL and Perl.
• Cadence tool experience preferred; familiarity with Cadence Virtuoso.
• Experience with Perforce/Methodics for versioning.
• Knowledge of CPF/UPF methodology is an added advantage.
• Knowledge of foundry rules and ability to produce tape-out ready GDSII is a plus.
• Strong ownership, hands-on approach and teamwork.
• Strong inter-personal, teamwork and communication skills are required.

Responsibilities

• Floorplan development, power/ground distribution, and clock distribution.
• Logic synthesis, cell placement, and interconnect routing.
• Equivalence-checking, timing closure, and physical verification (LVS, DRC).
• Strong collaboration with RTL designers to solve challenging problems.
• Own and deliver digital subsystems of significant size/complexity.
• Develop schedule and monitor progress.
• Effective teamwork involving engineers working in geographically disparate locations.
