Job summary

AMD Ireland's SerDes team is hiring a staff level digital design engineer to develop RTL for complex mixed-signal ICs in advanced CMOS processes. You will implement clock/data recovery, adaptive digital control loops and DSP-based channel equalization, collaborating with a seasoned design team to deliver world-class SerDes solutions.

The role emphasizes silicon bring-up, design verification, and strong communication within cross-functional teams in a hybrid Ireland-based environment.

Qualifications

• Extensive RTL design experience and specification development.
• Proficiency with HDL (Verilog preferred, VHDL acceptable).
• Experience with modern ASIC methods: verification, STA, signal integrity, DFT, synthesis, physical implementation.

Responsibilities

• RTL implementation of clock/data recovery, adaptive digital control, and DSP algorithms.
• Collaborate with architecture team to understand algorithms and feedback on design implementation.
• Perform digital design verification to ensure functionality before handing off to verification team.
• Conduct design verification using HDL check tools (CDC, RDC, Lint).
• Support verification team in debugging identified issues.
• Assist silicon bring-up and debugging.
