Job summary
Apple Inc. in Cork, Ireland, is establishing a new EMEA operational SRE team within the Enterprise Technology Services group. The role focuses on ensuring reliability of Apple’s Insight big data ecosystem, with ML-driven alerting, automation, and cross-functional collaboration across time zones.
The candidate will own scalability and observability, contribute to IaC practices, and help shape regional SRE culture within a globally distributed environment.
Qualifications
- Experience in SRE, DevOps, or platform engineering.
- Strong Linux systems proficiency with troubleshooting at the system level.
- Programming and automation in Python, Go, or Bash with AI/ML in IT operations.
- Hands-on experience with cloud platforms such as AWS or GCP in production environments.
Responsibilities
- Own the reliability, performance, and scalability of services and infrastructure within the Insight ecosystem.
- Build and advance AIOps capabilities—ML-driven alerting, anomaly detection, and automated incident triage.
- Instrument services for deep observability: dashboards, alerts, runbooks, and defined SLOs/SLIs.
- Drive automation to reduce toil and improve ecosystem uptime and release quality.
