Senior Payroll Specialist – EMEA & APAC

Location: Dublin, Ireland | Hybrid (3 days per week in office)

About the Role

We’re looking for an experienced Senior Payroll Specialist to join our Global Payroll team and help deliver accurate, compliant, and efficient payroll across our growing international footprint. This role will have primary responsibility for UK & Ireland payroll, while supporting additional EMEA and APAC countries through our global partners. Beyond day-to-day payroll delivery, we're looking for someone who brings strong payroll expertise, takes ownership, proactively identifies risks, and enjoys finding better ways of working.

You’ll work closely with our International Payroll Lead and cross-functional partners to strengthen payroll controls, standardize processes, and support automation initiatives as we continue to scale our global operations.

What You’ll Do

Payroll Operations & Compliance

  • Own end-to-end payroll processing for the UK and Ireland, ensuring accurate and timely delivery.

  • Support payroll review and coordination across additional countries, including France, Germany, Switzerland, Singapore, and Australia, as assigned.

  • Review payroll inputs, calculations, variances, and final outputs to ensure accuracy and compliance.

  • Partner with CloudPay and local payroll providers to resolve discrepancies and manage payroll-related issues.

  • Support statutory reporting, tax compliance, and month-end and year-end payroll requirements.

Controls & Operational Excellence

  • Perform payroll reconciliations, validation checks, and documented controls.

  • Maintain accurate payroll records and audit-ready documentation.

  • Develop and maintain payroll SOPs, calendars, checklists, and country-specific process documentation.

  • Identify payroll risks, raise concerns proactively, and recommend solutions.

  • Support cross-training and backup coverage to ensure business continuity.

Process Improvement & Automation

  • Identify opportunities to simplify manual processes and improve payroll accuracy and efficiency.

  • Support automation initiatives using Workday, CloudPay, AI, and other available tools.

  • Help standardize payroll processes and controls across countries.

  • Participate in system enhancements, integrations, testing, and payroll-related projects.

Cross-Functional Partnership

  • Work closely with People Operations, Benefits, People Tech, Finance, and other internal partners.

  • Provide clear and timely communication on payroll matters, deadlines, risks, and resolutions.

  • Partner with the International Payroll Lead to support operational priorities and continuous improvement.

  • Contribute to a collaborative team environment through knowledge sharing and process improvements.

What We’re Looking For

  • 5+ years of progressive payroll experience, ideally within a multinational organization.

  • Strong hands‑on UK and Ireland payroll experience is essential.

  • Experience managing payroll across multiple countries and working with third‑party payroll providers.

  • Strong understanding of payroll compliance, statutory reporting, reconciliations, and controls.

  • Experience with Workday and CloudPay or comparable HRIS and global payroll platforms.

  • Ability to independently manage payroll deadlines, investigate discrepancies, and resolve complex payroll issues.

  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to balance competing priorities.

  • Proactive mindset with a focus on process improvements and operational efficiency.

  • Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively across teams and regions.

  • Comfortable working in a changing environment and taking ownership of assigned responsibilities.

Nice to Have

  • Payroll experience in France, Germany, Switzerland, Singapore, or Australia.

  • Experience supporting payroll implementations, integrations, or transformation projects.

  • Experience developing payroll SOPs, controls, and standardized processes.

  • Familiarity with automation, AI tools, or data analytics within payroll operations.

  • Experience supporting internal or external payroll audits.

Why Join

  • Be part of a growing Global Payroll team supporting an expanding international business.

  • Take ownership of key international payroll operations while working alongside experienced payroll professionals.

  • Help shape how we improve and scale our global payroll processes.

  • Work with modern payroll technology and contribute to automation and innovation.
