JJ Kavanagh & Sons Limited is seeking a Spray Painter / Panel Beater Technician for our Urlingford depot. This full-time, permanent role supports a modern PSV fleet and a close-knit workshop team.

Qualifications

• Formal, industry-recognised qualifications in panel beating/spray painting.
• Proven competence in body repair and paintwork.
• Strong focus on safety, quality and attention to detail.
• Full driving licence is essential; commercial licence is an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Carry out spray painting and panel beating on vehicle types.
• Complete de-tarring and body repairs as required.
• Perform routine and non-routine maintenance and repairs on PSVs.
• Prepare and present vehicles for MOT/CVRT checks.
• Diagnose and resolve bodywork and cosmetic defects.
• Complete job cards, inspections and defect rectification paperwork.

At JJ Kavanagh, we are expanding our maintenance team and are currently seeking an experienced Spray Painter / Panel Beater Technician to join our Urlingford depot. As a family-run business with over 100 years of heritage, we take pride in our people, our fleet, and the standards we uphold.

This is a hands-on, varied role within a supportive workshop environment, working with a modern PSV fleet and a close-knit team of engineers and drivers.

Your roleAs a Spray Painter / Panel Beater Technician, you will play a key role in maintaining the appearance, safety, and roadworthiness of our vehicles. Your work will directly support fleet availability and ensure our vehicles meet the high standards expected by our drivers, passengers, and regulators.

Your day-to-day responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:

• Carrying out professional spray painting and panel beating on all vehicle types
• Completing de-tar’ing and body repairs as required
• Performing routine and non-routine maintenance and repairs on PSVs
• Preparing and presenting vehicles for MOT/CVRT
• Diagnosing and resolving bodywork and cosmetic defects
• Completing all job cards, inspections, and defect rectification paperwork accurately
• Liaising with the parts department to source required components
• Supporting colleagues across the engineering and driving teams
• Maintaining a clean, safe, and compliant working environment
• Attending to unscheduled maintenance issues both on and off-site
• Availability to work some weekends as business needs arise

What you’ll need

• Formal, industry-recognised qualifications in panel beating/spray painting
• Proven technical competence across body repair and paintwork
• A strong focus on safety, quality, and attention to detail
• A flexible, proactive approach and positive attitude
• Full driving licence (essential)
• Commercial licence is an advantage (training can be provided)
