Job summary

St. Joseph's Foundation in Ireland seeks a Sports and Recreation Supervisor (Basic Grade) to lead and coordinate day-to-day leisure and fitness activities across North Cork and North West Limerick.

The role covers day, evening and weekend shifts with Sunday premiums applied. The ideal candidate will hold a Lifeguard qualification, a full Irish driving licence, and have a background in sports coaching or fitness instruction; First Aid is essential and knowledge of working with intellectual

Qualifications

• Lifeguard qualification required.
• Driving licence required.
• Experience in sports coaching desirable.

• Strong MS Office skills essential.

Responsibilities

• Supervise sports and recreation activities.
• Coordinate day-to-day supervision in line with the Sports Coordinator.
• Work day/evening/weekend shifts, with Sunday premiums.
• Ensure safety and compliance in pool and activity settings.

The Foundation provides services to children and adults, through day services, residential, respite care, and home support in the North Cork and South West Limerick region. We have day and residential services in various locations in the North Cork and North Limerick area; such as Charleville, Dromina, Newtownshandrum, Buttevant, Newmarket, Mitchelstown and Mallow, in Limerick; Ballylanders, , Ballyagran, Bruree, Bruff Croom Dromcollogher, Granagh Kilmallock, and Liskennett.

St. Joseph's Foundation is a lead agency in Cork Kerry Community Healthcare for the North West Cork and the North East Cork Children's Disability Network Teams. These teams provide services from 0-18 under the National Progressing Disability Services Programme and are based in Mallow and Fermoy.

INITIAL HOURLY 39 hours per week

COMMITMENT:

This role will include working Day / Evening / Weekend shift (Sunday premiums apply)

The ideal candidates will have:

• Lifeguard Qualification (Essential)
• A full Irish Driving Licence (Essential)
• Background in sports coaching or fitness instruction (Desirable)
• Pool Lifeguard Award level 2 of the Irish Water Safety Association or an equivalent award from a Nationally recognised water safety association. (Desirable)
• Occupational First Aid (Essential)
• Experience of working with people with intellectual disabilities (Desirable)
• Strong Microsoft office skills (Essential)
• Pool Plant Operator qualification/course (Desirable)
• Group Fitness and Personal Training qualification (Desirable)
