Job summary

Elk Recruitment seeks a Solar PV Technical Commercial Manager to oversee the technical and commercial aspects of solar PV projects in West Cork. You will work closely with roofing teams to plan, coordinate and deliver projects efficiently, ensuring technical soundness and commercial viability on every job.

The role requires strong solar PV knowledge, practical construction experience and a collaborative, hands-on approach to project delivery.

Qualifications

• Demonstrable experience in solar PV, roofing, construction or related tech-commercial roles.
• Strong understanding of solar PV systems and mounting solutions.
• Knowledge of roofing systems, waterproofing interfaces and PV integration.
• Experience in estimating, procurement, tendering or commercial project management.
• Ability to interpret technical drawings, site surveys and installation details.
• Excellent communication and coordination skills.
• Good health and safety awareness on construction sites.
• Commercial awareness and understanding of project profitability.

Responsibilities

• Oversee technical assessment, design coordination and delivery of solar PV projects.
• Coordinate with designers, engineers, electricians, suppliers and installation teams to resolve technical issues.
• Prepare and review estimates, quotations, cost plans and budgets for solar PV works.
• Review site surveys and identify access, structural and roof condition constraints.
• Ensure roofing works and PV installations are properly sequenced.
• Attend site meetings and carry out site visits as required.
• Support procurement and supplier negotiations for PV equipment and mounting systems.
