Cisco Systems, Inc. is seeking a Software Engineer to help design and bolster authentication, authorization, identity management, and auditing for our internal cloud platform.
You will build and automate Vault-based secrets management and enforce least-privilege access controls while leveraging Go, Ansible, and Terraform. Ideal candidates will have 4+ years of software development experience, strong knowledge of SSO/OIDC/SAML/JWT, and experience with Kubernetes and cloud environments (AWS/GCP).
The Cisco Common Platform Services (CCPS) organization is transforming how Cisco delivers software-as-a-service through a modern, consistent, and secure internal cloud platform. Our global team builds and operates hybrid cloud services that enable rapid, reliable, and secure application delivery.
Within CCPS, the Cloud Software & Solutions (CSS) group develops cloud platforms focused on quality, stability, scalability, security, and user experience. We are looking for a software engineer to build, and automate authentication, authorization, identity management, and auditing capabilities for our internal cloud platform.
Participate in the design and evolve platform capabilities for authentication, authorization, identity federation, and auditing.
Participate in design, build, and operate HashiCorp Vault capabilities for secrets management, secure credential distribution, dynamic credentials, access policies, and secrets lifecycle automation.
Implement role- and policy-based access control, service identities, and least-privilege access models.
Automate identity lifecycle, access provisioning, policy enforcement, validation, and recovery using Go, Ansible, and Terraform.
Participate in global Tier3 support.
BS or MS in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
4+ years (BS) or 2+ years (MS) of experience in software development.
Automation and development experience using Python, Go, Ansible, Terraform, or similar tools.
Knowledge of SSO, OAuth 2.0, OpenID Connect, SAML, JWT, and identity federation.
Knowledge of cloud-native technologies (e.g., Kubernetes, AWS/GCP).
Experience with leveraging AI tools to improve productivity, automate routine tasks, accelerate problem-solving, and enhance the quality of day-to-day work and decision-making.
Experience with HashiCorp Vault architecture, including authentication methods, secrets engines, policies, namespaces, tokens, leases, and high-availability deployment.
Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and agile development methodologies.
Problem-solving skills and the ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
