Job summary

Amazon Development Centre Ireland Limited in Dublin is seeking an experienced Software Developer to join the AWS Lambda runtimes team. You will work across Lambda runtimes, implementing, documenting, and updating security patches to support multiple languages used by millions of customers.

The role requires versatile programming across languages (Java, Python, Node.js, Go, Rust) and collaboration with open-source communities to ensure runtime stability and scalability in a serverless environment.

Qualifications

• Professional software development experience (non-internship).
• Experience designing or architecting systems with design patterns, reliability and scaling.
• Experience with open source tools and resources.

Responsibilities

• Work on AWS Lambda runtimes including implementation, documentation, security updates and supporting libraries.
• Engage with upstream open-source communities and align runtimes with language advancements.
• Balance security patching urgency with minimizing customer disruption and deliver scalable runtime operations.
