Job summary

Amazon Development Centre Ireland Limited in Dublin seeks a Software Development Engineer to join the Business Information Governance (BIG) team. The role focuses on building scalable distributed systems for content management infrastructure and event-driven processing, spanning large-scale data pipelines.

You'll collaborate with cross-functional teams to migrate legacy systems, implement modern replacements, and participate in on-call rotations and monitoring.

Qualifications

• Experience designing or architecting (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems.
• Experience programming with at least one software programming language.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain highly scalable distributed systems for content management infrastructure
• Design and implement event-driven architectures
• Develop and maintain scalable data processing pipelines
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to architect solutions for content transformation
• Contribute to the deprecation and migration of legacy systems while building next-generation replacements
• Participate in operational excellence initiatives, including on-call rotations and system monitoring
• Write clean, maintainable code with comprehensive testing and documentation
