Job summary

Amazon Development Centre Ireland Limited invites interns to work on real software projects and collaborate with seasoned engineers on scalable, distributed systems. Interns will help design, implement, and optimize technologies across large, multi-tier environments utilizing AWS and cutting-edge tools.

The program supports 3 or 6 month durations, with mentorship, hands-on experience, and opportunities to contribute to mission-critical initiatives that impact customers worldwide.

Qualifications

• Enrolled in a Bachelor's degree or above in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field at time of application
• Knowledge of programming languages such as C/C++, Python, Java or Perl
• Knowledge of CS fundamentals such as object-oriented design, operating systems, algorithms, data structures, and complexity analysis

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with experienced cross-disciplinary Amazonians to conceive, design, and bring to market innovative products and services.
• Design and build innovative technologies in a large distributed computing environment and help lead fundamental changes in the industry.
• Create solutions to run predictions on distributed systems with exposure to innovative technologies at incredible scale and speed.
• Build distributed storage, index, and query systems that are scalable, fault-tolerant, low cost, and easy to manage/use.
• Work in an agile environment to deliver high quality software.
