Job summary

PGIM Ireland is seeking a DevOps Engineer to join our Technology Solutions Group in Letterkenny. You will collaborate with development teams to build scalable applications supporting Portfolio Management, Compliance, Finance, Data Governance, Operational Risk and Human Resources, using Java or Python, strong SQL, and cloud platforms.

This hybrid role requires 2-3 years DevOps experience, hands-on AWS/Azure deployment, and strong CI/CD practices with GitHub Actions.

Qualifications

• 2-3 years of proven experience in DevOps Engineering.
• Experience deploying and managing services in AWS/Azure.
• Strong understanding of source control and Git (branching, merges, conflict resolution).
• Experience in CI/CD orchestration (GitHub Actions).
• Familiarity with DevOps domains: software development, IaC, configuration as code.
• Know-how in Jira, pip, npm, and build tools (Gradle, Maven).
• Containers (Docker, Kubernetes) and artifact repositories (Artifactory, ECR, Nexus).
• Deployment tools (CloudFormation, Ansible, Terraform).
• Ability to work in scrum and independently.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with development teams and senior DevOps engineers to propose technical solutions and implement in multi-platform environments.

Location: Letterkenny (Hybrid 2-3 days In Office)

What you will do

Our Technology Solutions Group is a dynamic, fast-paced environment, with exciting changes on the horizon under new senior leadership. We are looking for you to build out scalable applications to support our Portfolio Management, Compliance, Finance, Data Governance, Operational Risk, and Human Resources teams. You will need to have in-depth technical knowledge of Java or Python together with strong SQL and should feel comfortable working within large internal and external data sets. What you can expect

• This DevOps and Cloud Engineer role will work closely with development teams and Senior DevOps engineers to understand their design/challenges, propose technical solutions, and assist with implementations in our multi-platform environment – on-premise Linux/Windows, AWS, Azure and Fabric

• Build Infrastructure as Code using Terraform and CloudFormation templates.

• Implement CI/CD process using GitHub and GitHub actions; ensure continuous, high velocity build, test, and delivery of software solutions through DevOps automation.

• Develop automated infrastructure provisioning, configuration management, source code management and new ways to operate and collaborate.

• Use programming languages including but not limited to Python, Shell/Power scripting, Groovy, CloudFormation and Terraform frameworks.

• In addition to deep technical expertise and DevOps domain experience, you will bring excellent problem solving, communication and teamwork skills, along with agile ways of working, strong desire to new tools and technology and an inclusive attitude!

What you will bring

• 2-3 years of proven experience in DevOps Engineering

• Experience with deploying and managing services in AWS/Azure

• Strong understanding of source control and git - branching schemes, merge types, conflict resolutions

• Experience in developing workflow in CI/CD orchestration tools (GitHub Actions)

• Familiarity with various DevOps domains:

• Software development processes (Java, Python, JavaScript, SQL, Shell, Infrastructure-as-Code, Configuration-as-Code)

• Issue tracking and versioning (Jira)

• Package managers (pip, npm, uv)

• Build tools (Gradle, Maven)

• Containers (Docker, Kubernetes)

• Artifact repositories (Artifactory, ECR, Nexus)

• Deployment tools (CloudFormation, Ansible, Terraform)

• Infrastructure and deployment targets (Cloud, datacenters, containers, SaaS, PaaS)

• Ability to perform within a scrum team as well as working independently.

What will set you apart

• AWS / Azure Cloud Certifications

• Experience in application development (Python, Groovy, JavaScript)

• Ability to learn new skills and knowledge on an on-going basis through self-initiative and tackling challenges.

• Familiarity with application security domains (static code analysis, SAST, DAST, SCA, xSPM)

• Financial Industry experience

• Strong documentation skills to publish user guides, defects, feature requests, and architecture designs.
