Job summary

Jobgether is seeking an experienced Software Engineer - Crypto in Ireland to design, build, and scale exchange and market-making systems. You will develop wallets, funding, and tokenization infrastructure while ensuring reliability, low latency, and high availability across distributed services.

You will work on backend services, distributed systems, and crypto infrastructure in a globally distributed team, with autonomy and ownership over technical decisions and a strong focus on software

Qualifications

• 4+ years of backend software development experience.
• Proven experience building trading systems, exchanges, or high-throughput financial platforms.
• Hands-on crypto product or infrastructure development experience.
• Strong knowledge of financial markets and fault-tolerant systems.
• Experience with messaging queues and brokers.
• Solid SQL and relational databases knowledge.
• Bash, Linux, and Docker experience.
• Familiarity with Kubernetes and CI/CD is a plus.

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Software Engineer - Crypto based in Ireland.

This role offers the opportunity to build and evolve the core technology powering large-scale crypto trading and brokerage services.
You will architect and develop exchange, market-making, wallet, funding, and tokenization systems serving millions of users.
The position combines backend engineering, distributed systems, financial technology, and crypto infrastructure.
You will work on high-throughput, low-latency systems where reliability, scalability, and software quality are critical.
You will have significant ownership over technical solutions while collaborating closely with cross-functional teams.

Accountabilities:

• Design, build, and maintain exchange and market-making systems supporting crypto trading at scale.


• Develop reliable services for crypto wallets, funding, tokenization, and related financial infrastructure.


• Architect and implement backend services and web applications using modern engineering practices.


• Build systems capable of handling high-throughput, low-latency workloads while maintaining reliability and fault tolerance.


• Maintain strong software quality, testing standards, code coverage, and clean, maintainable code.


• Participate actively in code reviews and contribute to technical decision-making.


• Investigate and resolve production incidents, technical issues, and reported bugs.


• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define technical goals and design solutions that meet business requirements.


• Take part in on-call responsibilities when required to support time-sensitive engineering initiatives.

Requirements:

• 4+ years of professional experience in backend software development.


• Proven experience building trading systems, exchanges, matching engines, market-making platforms, or other high-throughput, low-latency financial systems.


• Hands-on experience developing crypto-related products or infrastructure.


• Strong knowledge of financial markets and regulated, fault-tolerant systems.


• Professional experience with at least one modern programming language such as Go, C, or C++; strong Go experience is particularly relevant.


• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, a related technical discipline, or equivalent practical experience.


• Experience working with messaging queues and message brokers.


• Solid SQL and relational database knowledge.


• Hands-on experience with Bash, Linux, and Docker.


• Strong focus on software quality, reliability, testing, and delivering robust solutions.


• Comfortable challenging existing approaches, sharing technical opinions, and taking ownership of engineering decisions.


• Experience with Kubernetes, CI/CD, DevOps practices, major cloud platforms such as AWS, GCP, or Azure, microservice architectures, Agile/Scrum, or clean-code principles is a plus.


• Kubernetes certifications such as CKA or CKAD are also advantageous.
