Job summary

Viska Systems is seeking a skilled Software Engineer to join our team, developing software solutions for AI and machine vision applications and driving automated inspection capabilities.

You will design and implement reliable software, collaborate with hardware teams, and ensure code quality using Python, Java or C++, with OpenCV/YOLO experience. A Computer Science degree and eligibility to work in Ireland are required.

What We’re Looking For

• Software Development Expertise: 5+ years of experience in software development with a strong foundation in programming languages such as Python (preferred), Java, or C++.
• Educational Background: Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering or a related technical field with a minimum 2.1 grade.
• Technical Proficiency and Specialised Knowledge: Strong problem-solving skills with practical experience in image processing and familiarity with AI technologies, machine learning frameworks, and open-source computer vision tools such as OpenCV and YOLO.
• Software Development and Tools: Experience using GIT for version control and Docker for application containerisation.
• Development Methodologies: Familiarity with Agile and Scrum software development practices.
• Strong Communication Skills: Ability to clearly and effectively convey technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Initiative: Proactive in identifying opportunities for improvement, taking ownership of challenges, and driving projects forward independently when required.
• Collaboration Skills: Proven ability to work effectively within a team, contributing to shared goals while taking ownership of individual responsibilities.
