We are seeking a Graduate Software Engineer to join our growing team based in Dundalk, County Louth, Ireland.
As a Graduate Software Engineer, you will utilize your knowledge and experience to support the production of market differentiating products and services that bridge the gap between software engineering and automation engineering domains.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Support the business by ensuring the smooth execution and deployment of new and existing products and services.
- Actively contribute to ongoing Automation and Product development activities, these include, but are not limited to:
- ActiveX development through C++ or VB for use on legacy platforms.
- C# development within a wide range of proprietary, cross-platform solutions.
- Report development within SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS).
- SQL development within Microsoft SQL Server and MySQL.
- VBA development within Scada packages and Microsoft Excel.
- Proactively identify and solution for any opportunities to automate repetitive tasks.
- Perform problem identification on existing solutions and prevent recurrence with root cause analysis.
- Design procedures for system troubleshooting and maintenance.
- Make every reasonable effort to deliver upon assignments within agreed timeframe.
- Participate in knowledge sharing exercises.
- Support the successful execution of the Software Development Life-cycle (SDLC) and the ISO9001 quality system.
- Support the development of your career in line with corporate strategies.
- Demonstrate flexibility in technologies, platforms and approaches used as part of solutions design.
Qualifications & Skills
- Level 7 Qualification (NFQ) or above in related field.
- Knowledge of object-oriented programming through languages such as C#, C++, and/or Java.
- Knowledge of scripting languages, such as Bash, PowerShell, Python and/or VBScript.
- Knowledge of SQL in the context of Microsoft SQL Server, MySQL and/or SqLite
Desired Skills
- Familiarity with software design principles such as DRY, DDD, OOP and SOLID.
- Familiarity with Scrum, Scrumban and/or Kanban.
- Familiarity with the various elements of the Software Development Life-cycle (SDLC).
