Job summary

Zinkworks in Athlone is recruiting Software Developer Apprentices for an in-office apprenticeship programme. You will join a structured training path combining formal apprenticeship instruction with practical, on-the-job experience to grow into a capable software engineer.

You will learn core programming concepts, cloud technologies, teamwork skills and professional delivery habits, supported by trainers, mentors and teammates as you contribute to real projects.

Qualifications

• Interest in software development and learning in a structured apprenticeship.
• Comfort learning new technologies and collaborating in a team.
• Good communication and proactive problem solving.
• Located in Ireland, Athlone, willing to work in-office.

Responsibilities

• Complete FIT training and homework on time.
• Complete assigned programming exercises and project tasks.
• Work as a team to complete projects and solve problems.
• Take part in team ceremonies such as daily scrum, planning, reviews and retrospectives.
• Ask for help when needed and act on feedback from mentors and tech leads.
• Maintain a learning journal or reflection habit where required.
• Work professionally with teammates, trainers, mentors and wider Zinkworks staff.
