Job summary

Zinkworks, based in Ireland, seeks an experienced Platform/DevOps engineer to optimize CI/CD and OpenShift deployments. You will automate infrastructure with Ansible, manage GitLab runners, and ensure secure, compliant releases across production environments.

Ideal candidates bring 5+ years in platform/DevOps roles, strong Linux scripting skills, and hands-on experience with Kubernetes/OpenShift, GitOps, and security tooling such as SonarQube and Snyk.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in platform, DevOps, release, or infrastructure engineering.
• Strong hands-on experience with GitLab CI/CD, pipeline-as-code, and Git-based workflows.
• Solid Linux administration skills with scripting (Bash, Python) and Ansible for automation.
• Experience running containerised workloads on Kubernetes/OpenShift, with GitOps tools like ArgoCD.
• Familiarity with code quality and security tools (SonarQube, Snyk) and service mesh (Istio) and identity/SSO (Keycloak).
• Willingness to learn network orchestration platforms (Cisco NSO, Itential IAP).
• Experience supporting production systems in regulated environments with change management.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain GitLab CI/CD pipelines and shared templates across development groups.
• Own the compliance layer of the delivery process — integrating SonarQube and Snyk checks and tooling.
• Manage application releases to OpenShift via GitOps/ArgoCD within formal change windows.
• Administer and troubleshoot OpenShift clusters — node issues, cluster failures, platform incidents.
• Deliver package deployments and config changes to Cisco NSO and Itential IAP, incl. orchestration workflows.
• Maintain platform infrastructure with Ansible automation and self-managed GitLab runners; document runbooks.

Key Responsibilities

• Build and maintain GitLab CI/CD pipelines and shared pipeline templates used across multiple development groups

• Own the compliance layer of the delivery process — integrating and automating SonarQube and Snyk checks, and writing tooling that enforces organisational code standards

• Manage application releases to OpenShift, deployed via GitOps/ArgoCD, including pre-production and production releases executed within formal change windows

• Administer and troubleshoot OpenShift clusters — node issues, cluster failures, and platform-level incidents

• Deliver package deployments and configuration changes to Cisco NSO and Itential IAP, including custom network orchestration workflows, user access, and administration of the underlying servers

• Maintain platform infrastructure through Ansible automation and self-managed GitLab runners, alongside platform documentation and incident runbooks

Ideal Experience

• 5+ years in platform, DevOps, release, or infrastructure engineering roles

• Strong hands-on experience with GitLab CI/CD, pipeline-as-code, and Git-based workflows

• Solid Linux administration skills and scripting experience (Bash, Python) with Ansible for configuration management and automation

• Experience running containerised workloads on Kubernetes/OpenShift, ideally with GitOps tooling such as ArgoCD

• Familiarity with code quality and security scanning tools (SonarQube, Snyk) and with service mesh (Istio) and identity/SSO (Keycloak) configuration

• Willingness to learn network orchestration platforms (Cisco NSO, Itential IAP) — used here to deliver and maintain automated network service workflows

• Experience supporting production systems in a regulated or enterprise environment, working to a structured change management process
