Job summary

Clare County Council invites applications for a Professionally Qualified Social Worker to join Housing Delivery, Infrastructure Provision & Land Activation. The role provides social work and welfare services to housing applicants and tenants, with emphasis on vulnerable groups including the Traveller Community and the homeless.

You will work in a multi‑disciplinary team under supervision, undertake needs assessments, advocate, and coordinate with agencies such as HSE, Tusla, An Garda Síochána.

Qualifications

• Must hold a professional qualification in Social Work under the Health and Social Care Professionals Act 2005 (as amended)
• CORU validation and eligibility for CORU registration are required
• A full driving licence is required
• Strong organisational and reporting skills are essential

Responsibilities

• Provide social work and welfare services to housing applicants and tenants, focusing on vulnerable groups
• Engage with external agencies and coordinate inter‑agency supports
• Undertake needs assessments and prepare reports for decision making
• Represent Clare County Council in inter‑agency meetings and case conferences
