Job summary

The Talbot Group is seeking a Social Care Worker for our Children's Disability Residential Service in Ireland. You will act as a key worker for named residents, support daily plans and individual goals, and assist with living skills as part of a multi-disciplinary team.

We require a Level 7+ qualification and CORU registration, with experience in residential, respite or day services for people with intellectual disabilities.

Qualifications

  • Qualification at Level 7 or above to be registered as a Social Care Worker with CORU.
  • Knowledge of quality assurance practice and its application.
  • Experience in residential, respite or day service settings with intellectual disability.
  • Knowledge of Person Centred Planning and relevant policies.

Responsibilities

  • Act as a key worker for named residents where appropriate.
  • Support residents with their daily plan and individual goals.
  • Assist residents with living skills such as cooking, cleaning, laundry and appointments.
  • Work as part of the on-floor duty team and coordinate shifts as needed.
  • Report to the person in charge and collaborate with the Multi-Disciplinary Team.

7 x 12 hour shifts over a 14 day period

Salary Band:

€21.65 - €25.65 per hour. Salary depending on Experience, Qualifications and years of service

Purpose of the Role:
  • To act as a key worker for named Resident where appropriate.
  • Provide support to residents with their daily plan
  • Provide support to residents with their individual goals and education.
  • Provide support to residents with their living skills, eg. Cooking, cleaning, laundry, attending appointments, family visits etc.
  • Social Care Worker is part of the on-floor duty team and may also be responsible for co-ordination of the shift whilst on duty and for the supervision of other staff under his/her direction.
  • The Social Care Worker will report to the person in charge and be required to work collaboratively as part of a Multi-Disciplinary Team in service delivery to residents.
Role Requirements:
  • Candidates must hold a qualification at Level 7 or above that meets the criteria to be registered as a Social Care Worker with CORU.
  • Knowledge of quality assurance practise and their application to service provision
  • Have experience working in a residential, respite or day service setting with persons with an intellectual disability.
  • Knowledge of Person Centred Planning
  • Knowledge of both clinical and human resource policies and procedures and relevant legislation
  • Knowledge of National Disability Standards (HIQA)
