Job summary

Barróg Healthcare is recruiting Social Care Workers to support young people and vulnerable adults across aftercare, transitional care and community outreach services in Bray, Co. Wicklow.

The role involves helping individuals develop practical, emotional and social skills needed to live as independently as possible. You will build on the work of foster carers, families and residential teams while promoting inclusion, dignity and equal citizenship.

Qualifications

  • Have permission to work in Ireland.
  • Have at least one year's experience in a healthcare or disability-support setting.
  • Hold, or be completing, a BA in Social Care or relevant QQI Level 7 qualification.
  • Be registered with CORU as a Social Care Worker, or be completing a CORU-approved programme leading to registration.
  • Full clean driving licence.
  • Experience in a social care setting and knowledge of report writing and support planning.
  • Experience supporting individuals with challenging behaviour or mental-health needs.

Responsibilities

  • Support the development and delivery of care and placement plans.
  • Promote each service user’s rights, independence and responsibilities; support attendance at education, training, medical and clinical appointments.
  • Liaise with families, professionals and external agencies.
  • Maintain accurate records, reports and incident documentation.
  • Assist with meals, household budgeting, cleaning and home management.
  • Follow all Barróg Healthcare policies, safeguarding procedures and emergency protocols.
  • Attend staff meetings, supervision, training, case conferences and strategy meetings.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues and follow direction from the management team.
  • Complete other reasonable duties appropriate to the role.

Purpose of the Role

Barróg Healthcare is recruiting Social Care Workers to support young people and vulnerable adults across aftercare, transitional care and community outreach services.

Barróg Healthcare is a private health and social care provider based in Dublin, delivering services nationwide across mental health, disability, aftercare, transitional care and mainstream social care.

Job Type: Full-time and part-time

Shifts: 12-hour day shifts, 10am-10pm, and 24-hour shifts, 10am-10am

Reporting to: Aftercare Coordinator

Probation: Six months

Flexibility is required due to the 24/7 nature of the service.

Applicants must:
