Job summary

Avista is a person-centred, rights-based organisation delivering Day, Residential and Respite supports across Dublin, Limerick and North Tipperary. We seek a Social Care Worker to join our Day Services in Dublin with a 35-hour permanent part-time contract.

Ideal candidates hold QQI Level 7 in Social Care or Applied Social Studies, CORU registration or eligibility, and demonstrated experience with intellectual disabilities. A full driving licence is required to support service travel.

Qualifications

• QQI Level 7 or higher in Social Care/Applied Social Studies; CORU eligible.
• CORU registration up to date or application submitted.
• Proficiency in the English language.
• Experience in intellectual disability and behaviours of concern.
• Full clean manual driving licence and ability to drive service vehicle.
• Avista competency framework – Level 1 behavioural competencies.

Responsibilities

• Provide person-centred supports to people with intellectual disabilities.
• Work across Dublin locations (Dublin 7, 11 and 15) on day services.
• Support skills development and learning in identified areas.
• Maintain professional standards and uphold Avista ethos.

• QQI Level 7 (or higher) qualification in Social Care/Applied Social Studies or equivalent, the award must be considered eligible for CORU Social Care registration.
• Up to date CORU registration or Confirmation of application for registration submitted to CORU.
• Proficiency in the English language.
• Experience working within the area of intellectual disability and those who have behaviours of concern.
• To adopt a holistic and person centre approach to your role to ensure people are supported to live their best lives.
• Have an awareness of New Directions.
• Willingness to support persons to develop skills and competencies around identified areas of interest and learning.
• Full clean Manual driving licence & to drive service vehicle.
• Applicants should possess Level 1 behavioural competencies of Avista competency framework.
