Job summary

AA Euro Healthcare in Cork City is recruiting a Social Care Worker for our client’s disability services team on a permanent 30-hour week contract. You will work within a supportive multidisciplinary team delivering person-centred care and helping individuals achieve their goals in the community.

The role covers day, night and sleepover shifts, with opportunities to lead on care planning and ensure HIQA standards, safeguarding and confidentiality are upheld.

Qualifications

• Minimum QQI Level 7/8 qualification in Social Care Studies or an equivalent recognised qualification.
• CORU registration or evidence of an application in progress.
• Previous experience working with adults with disabilities.
• Knowledge of HIQA regulations and standards within disability services.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal and teamwork skills.
• Strong understanding of confidentiality, GDPR and safeguarding.
• A compassionate, professional and person-centred approach.
• Flexibility to work day shifts, night shifts and sleepovers according to service requirements.

Responsibilities

• Provide person-centred care and support to individuals within residential and respite services.
• Assist with daily living activities, including personal care and promoting independence.
• Act as a Keyworker, supporting the development and implementation of individual care plans.
• Support medication management in accordance with service policies and procedures.
• Maintain accurate care records and report incidents appropriately.
• Promote a safe, supportive and homely environment.
• Work collaboratively with families, colleagues and healthcare professionals.
• Ensure compliance with HIQA standards, safeguarding and health and safety requirements.
• Undertake shift-leader responsibilities when required.
