Job summary

Autism A Chara is seeking a dedicated Social Care Worker for our Residential service in Wicklow. The role involves supporting adults with autism across residential settings, respite and day services, with a focus on person-centred care and community engagement.

Qualifications

• Essential criteria include a QQI level 7 Award in Social Care or Applied Social Care/Studies/Practice at degree level.
• Proof of CORU registration as Social Care Worker or in progress with CORU.
• At least six months' recent experience as a Social Care Worker supporting people with complex needs.
• Availability to work shifts including evenings, weekends, and waking night duty shifts.
• Full, clean Irish driver’s license desirable.

Responsibilities

• Provide tailored social care support to adults with autism.
• Assist with daily living activities and routines.
• Support participation in community activities and independent living.
• Collaborate with families and carers to deliver person-centred plans.

Essential criteria for the position of Social Care Worker:

• A full QQI level 7 Award in Social Care or Applied Social Care/Studies/Practice at degree level is essential
• Proof of successful registration with CORU as a Social Care Worker
• OR proof of application in progress with CORU.
• At least six month's recent experience working as a Social Care Worker supporting people with complex needs
• Availability to work shifts on a rota basis including evenings and weekends and waking night duty shifts
• Full, clean Irish drivers licence (manual) desirable with requirement to drive service vehicles
• Permission to work in Ireland essential
