Enable Ireland is seeking a social care worker for its Arklow, Co. Wicklow Adult Day Service. The role supports adults with physical, sensory or intellectual disabilities, helping with daily living in line with individual needs and preferences.

Contract types include Relief and Specified Purpose posts. Part-time hours up to 30 per week are considered, with annual leave and long-service benefits described in the posting.

Qualifications

• Hold professional registration on the Social Care Workers Register (CORU).
• On appointment, maintain annual registration on the CORU register.
• Experience and knowledge to develop personal plans.
• Experience as a key worker.
• Experience delivering personal care.
• Experience assisting adults with medical needs/ administering medication.
• Experience with professional supervision.
• Full, clean manual driving licence.
• Eligible to work in Ireland.

We are currently seeking a highly-motivated Social Care Worker to join our team in Arklow, Co. Wicklow. We haveopportunities within our team in our Arklow Adult’s Day Service.

Contract Type: Relief and Specified Purpose Posts.

Contract Hours:

Specified Purpose: Part time hours considered up to a maximum of 30 per week.

Relief: As required.

Salary Scale: €39,943– €55,841 pro rata per annum. Salary scales are subject to LSI’s (Long Service Increments)

Annual Leave Entitlement: 31 days pro rata per annum and proportionately less for less than 12 months service.

Overview of the Post:

To work as part of a dedicated and innovative team in an Adult Day Service working with adults with physical and/or sensory or mild to moderate intellectual disabilities, within a quality framework. The post holder will support the individuals accessing the service with all aspects of their daily lives in accordance with their individual needs and preferences.

The successful candidate will have:

1. Statutory Registration, Professional Qualifications, Experience, etc.

• Hold a professional registration on the Social Care Workers Register maintained by the Social Care Workers Registration Board at CORU.

AND

OR

• Have a comparable qualification recognised by Social Care Workers Registration Board.

AND

• Candidates must have the knowledge, skills, and suitability required to perform the role effectively.

2. Annual Registration

• On appointment, practitioners must maintain annual registration on the Social Care Workers Register maintained by the Social Care Workers Registration Board at CORU.

3. Additional Criteria:

• Experience in contributing to the development of personal plans.


• Experience and knowledge of the role of a key worker.


• Experience of delivering personal care.


• Experience of assisting adults with medical needs/ administering medication.


• Experience of engaging in professional supervision.


• Possess a full, clean, manual driving licence.


• Eligible to work in the State


• Experience of working with adults and families with physical/sensory /intellectual disabilities.


• Minimum of 1 year post qualification experience relevant to the role.
