Job summary

Attuned Healthcare is a values-driven organisation delivering residential and community-based support to children, young people, and adults with complex needs. We seek a Social Care Team Leader to oversee the residential services in Ashford, Co. Wicklow, ensuring high‑quality, person‑centred care.

You will work with a multidisciplinary team to support staff, coordinate care, and maintain compliance with HIQA/MHC standards while promoting safeguarding and positive outcomes.

Qualifications

  • recognised qualification in Social Care / Health Care at QQI Level 7 or higher.
  • CORU approved Social Care Worker qualification / CORU registration (evidence of application).
  • Proven experience in residential services with complex needs.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and decision‑making skills.
  • Excellent documentation, organisational, and report writing skills.
  • Confident using IT systems and digital record‑keeping tools.
  • Understanding of best practice in residential care, safeguarding, rights and trauma‑informed approaches.
  • Commitment to Children First (if working with children)
  • Knowledge of Trust in Care Policy (if working with adults)
  • Garda Vetting and legal right to work in Ireland.
  • Professional, respectful, and empathetic approach.

Responsibilities

  • Support the Social Care Manager in daily operational management.
  • Staff rostering and daily/weekly compliance checklists.
  • Assist with audits, incident reviews and quality improvements.
  • Ensure HIQA/MHC standards, safeguarding policies and legislative requirements.
  • Lead, supervise, coach and support care and administrative staff.
  • Oversee personalised support plans respecting rights and choices.
  • Build relationships with families, advocates and MDT members.
  • Maintain safety, infection control, and GDPR/data management.
  • Promote a culture of respect, professionalism and continuous improvement.

The Role

We are seeking a dedicated Social Care Team Leader to support the delivery of high‑quality, person‑centered care within a micro‑residential service for individuals with complex support needs.

In this leadership role, you will support the Centre Manager with the day‑to‑day running of the service, ensuring best practice in line with HIQA/MHC regulations, and fostering a safe, empowering, and therapeutic environment.

You will work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team (MDT) and play a key role in supporting staff, coordinating care, and maintaining the highest standards of quality and compliance.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support the Social Care Manager in daily operational management including:
  • Staff rostering
  • Completing daily/weekly compliance checklists
  • Support the Centre Manager with audits, incident reviews, and quality‑improvement initiatives.
  • Ensure full compliance with HIQA/MHC standards, safeguarding policies, and legislative requirements.
  • Lead, supervise, coach, and support care and administrative staff.
  • Oversee personalised support plans to ensure individual needs, rights, and choices are central to care delivery.
  • Build strong, collaborative relationships with families, advocates, MDT members, and external agencies.

We are seeking motivated, compassionate, and professional Team Leader who are committed to delivering high-quality residential care.

The ideal candidate is expected to have:

  • A recognised qualification in Social Care / Health Care at QQI Level 7 or higher (or equivalent) or evidence of enrolment or currently studying a CORU recognised qualification in Social Care at QQI Level 7
  • Hold a CORU approved Social Care Worker qualification /have applied for CORU registration (evidence of application will be necessary)
  • Proven experience working in residential services with individuals who present with complex needs.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and decision‑making skills.
  • Excellent documentation, organisational, and report‑writing skills.
  • Confidence in using IT systems and digital record‑keeping tools.
  • Understanding of best practice in residential care, safeguarding, individuals’ rights, and trauma‑informed approaches.
