Job summary

Avista is seeking a Social Care Leader for Day Services in Dublin 15 and Dublin 7. The role is a 37-hour, permanent part-time contract with a salary of €57,484–€67,130 (LSI).

The successful candidate will lead person-centred care for individuals with intellectual disabilities, ensuring quality and compliance with CORU standards. Essential qualifications include QQI Level 7 in Social Care, CORU registration or application, and a Level 6 management qualification.

• Essential: QQI Level 7 in Social Care/Applied Social Studies or equivalent (eligible for CORU).
• Essential: CORU registration or application submitted to CORU.
• Essential: Management qualification QQI/QQ1 Level 6 or enrolled in a recognised management course.
• Essential: Full clean driving licence (manual) and own vehicle access.
• Essential: Minimum three years' experience in a related sector.
• Essential: Experience in intellectual disability.
• Essential: Proficiency in English.

Salary: €57,484-67,130 LSI *

• Salary subject to Relevant Public Sector Experience and pro-rated for hours of work.

Essential:

• QQI Level 7 (or higher) qualification in Social Care/Applied Social Studies or equivalent, the award must be considered eligible for CORU registration.
• Up to date CORU registration or Confirmation of application for registration submitted to CORU.
• Recognised management qualification FETAC/QQ1 Level 6 or equivalent- completed or to be enrolled in a recognised management course.
• Full clean driving licence for manual vehicles and access to own vehicle.
• Minimum of three years' experience in a relative sector.
• Experience working within the area of intellectual Disability.
• Proficiency in the English language.

Desirable:

• QQI Level 8 is desirable but applicants with level 7 degree who have relevant experience will be considered. The award must be considered eligible for CORU registration
• Have experience of Person-Centred planning.
• Have an awareness of New Directions and regulations.
• Desire to support people to live their best lives.
• Willingness to support persons to develop skills and competencies around identified areas of interest and learning.
• Experience in the area of staff or student supervision.
• Supporting people who display signs of distress/behaviours of concern.
