Job summary

Rainbow Community Services is seeking a Social Care Leader to guide a residential centre and supervise a dedicated team, ensuring a safe and nurturing environment for young people. You will oversee care plans, advocate for residents, and drive best practices in care delivery.

The role requires a QQI Level 7 qualification and at least three years of full-time experience with children and young people, with CORU registration or in progress.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 3 years full-time relevant experience in social care, working with children and young people in mainstream care.
  • Bachelor's degree is required.
  • Must hold a QQI Level 7 in Social Science / Social Studies / Social Care, or a related field such as Child & Adolescent Psychotherapy, Counselling, Addiction Counselling, Youth and Community, Family Support, or Applied Policing.
  • Must be registered with CORU or in the process of registration.

Social Care Leader

In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for creating and maintaining a safe, caring, and stable environment for the children and young people in our residential centres. You will lead a dedicated team, working alongside management to ensure the highest standards of care are met.

Your key responsibilities will include:

We are looking for a compassionate and experienced individual with a strong background in social care, holding a relevant QQI Level 7 qualification and at least three years of full-time experience working with children and young people. Rainbow Community Services is an independent and private organisation that was established in 2005, and provides a range of residential services to young people aged 12-19 years.

Our ethos of care is underpinned by the core values of respect for our clients, partnership, empowerment, holistic development and solution focused interventions.

The Child Care Act 1991 requires TUSLA to provide care for a child by placing him or her in residential or foster care. Rainbow has been sub contracted by TUSLA and is in a contractually binding agreement to provide / complement the existing community based residential services operated by TUSLA.

Required Criteria
  • Minimum of 3 years full-time relevant experience in social care, working with children and young people in mainstream care.
  • A Bachelor's degree is required.
  • Must hold a QQI Level 7 in Social Science / Social Studies / Social Care, or a related field such as Child & Adolescent Psychotherapy, Counselling, Addiction Counselling, Youth and Community, Family Support, or Applied Policing.
  • Must be registered with CORU or in the process of registration.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • Must be self-motivated and a self-starter.
