Job summary

Arcadis seeks a proven Snr Mechanical Engineer to lead large-scale design projects for Semiconductor EPCM and Tool Install divisions. You will manage junior staff, develop designs, and mentor on technical development.

The role requires strong teamwork, adherence to regulations, and the ability to guide projects in a fast-paced environment. Ideally you have 5–8 years in a senior engineering role, with a degree in a related field, and a track record of client-facing collaboration.

Qualifications

  • A Third Level Degree in an associated discipline.
  • 5-8 years' experience as a Senior Engineer/Architect in an associated sector.
  • Experience managing/mentoring team members and guiding juniors.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication and organisational skills.

Responsibilities

  • Own design deliverables and coordinate with Lead Engineers on designs and specs.
  • Mentor junior staff and foster interdisciplinary teamwork.
  • Ensure safety procedures and relevant regulations are incorporated.
  • Ensure design packages comply with codes and standards.
  • Build strong client relationships and support business development.
  • Plan, organise, and prioritise tasks to meet milestones.
  • Engage in training and professional development activities.

Snr Mechanical Engineer
Position summary:

Arcadis is seeking for a proven Snr Mechanical Engineer to work with our multiple world class advanced technology clients. This individual will be responsible for working on large scale design projects from Semiconductor EPCM and Tool Install Division. The successful candidate will manage and direct junior staff, prepare proposals work with other Lead Engineers to develop designs, details, and specification standards, and mentor junior staff regarding technical development.

Responsibilities
Safety:
  • Ensure that Design Safety Procedures and Guidelines are implemented
  • Ensure that all relevant Health and Safety regulations are incorporated into design packages
  • Design out or limit safety issues which could impact construction or ongoing operational issues
  • Highlight to where safety issues will apply during construction/operation of design
Quality:
  • Ensuring the implementation of Arcadis and client SOP’s, Work Instructions and Guidelines
  • Ensure systems and tools are implemented.
Business Development/Client Relationships:
  • Build strong client relationships based on trust
Technical Knowledge:
  • Ensure that your technical experience matches the role and work you are undertaking within the organisation.
Codes and Standards
  • Ensure that design packages comply with relevant client, international and National codes and standards.
Teams:
  • Support and mentor team members.
  • Foster interdisciplinary teamwork on projects.
  • Adhere and encourage compliance with the Arcadis behavioural expectations and values.
Schedule/Planning Activities:
  • Own the deliverable / scope schedule, elevate to Lead when milestones are at risk and communicate progress to lead.
Training and Development
  • Discuss with your managers areas that you would like to develop in and identify training that could facilitate this.
  • Join relevant technical/professional organisations
Qualifications
  • A Third Level Degree in an associated discipline
  • 5-8 years' experience as a Senior Engineer / Architect in an associated sector (Ideally Pharmaceutical or Construction Industry).
  • Previous experience of Managing / Mentoring team members.
  • Demonstrable experience and willingness to work as part of a Team but with the ability to guide and advise junior team members as required.
  • A motivated self-starter with excellent inter-personal, communication and organisational skills.
  • Flexibility and adaptability to respond to evolving project / client needs.
  • Possesses a high level of problem-solving ability.
  • Demonstrable ability to plan, organise and prioritise.
  • Strong I.T. Skills with proficiency in associated software packages.Strong attention to detail.
  • Customer / Client Service Focused.
  • Ability to work in a fast paced, dynamic environment.
  • Dedication to Continuing Professional Development.
  • Committed to safe working practices both in the office and on site.
