• Mentor junior engineers and contribute to project proposals and client presentations.

Electrical Discipline Lead

Position summary:

Arcadis is seeking for a proven Electrical Discipline Lead to work with our multiple world class advanced technology clients. This individual will be responsible for working on large scale design projects from high density datacentres to nanotechnology manufacturing facilities. The successful candidate will manage and direct junior staff, prepare proposals work with other Lead Engineers to develop designs, details, and specification standards, and mentor junior staff regarding technical development.

Responsibilities

• Be the Global Subject-Matter-Expert (SME) for the Arcadis, leading and controlling the design for Electrical systems.
• Direct the performance of engineering tasks by other discipline team members for the design of Semi-conductor MV/ LV and general electrical systems, systems for high technology facilities including cleanrooms, general manufacturing/process facilities, datacentres and institutional facilities.
• Writes scope of work for Electrical design based on preliminary review, User requirement Specifications (URS’s) and client meetings.
• Prepares engineering studies and schematic design for new systems and analyse operation of existing systems.
• Identify and research future Semiconductor and datacentre industry trends. Keep on top of technology and industry developments;
• Assist in the development of group’s systems, procedures, standards and knowledge management;
• Prepare and participate in project proposals, man-hour estimating and client presentations;
• Support Business Development through client engagement at senior levels;
• Take responsible charge of the electrical design, including technical accuracy, completeness, and quality of electrical construction documents.
• Analyze and design complex building systems, including:
• Medium and low voltage power systems
• Lighting, grounding, and process heating systems
• Standby generator and UPS systems for critical power needs
• Are responsible for up front site selection and due diligence activities.
• Exercise judgment in developing plans or alternatives and work with teams to assure quality plans.
• Perform field activities such as observation of construction activities.
• Review construction submittals for conformance with the intent of contract and design documents.
• Provide guidance and mentoring to project electrical engineers and designers on a project-by-project basis.
• Uses computer-assisted engineering and design software and equipment to prepare engineering and design documents.
• Direct the use of Easypower/ SKM Power tools software to design, optimize and troubleshoot electrical systems.
• Develop system sequences of operation and line diagrams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering
• Minimum 8+ Years of experience in the design of mechanical systems in high technology facilities
