Job summary

AbbVie Cork site seeks an experienced Process Safety Engineer to lead the site’s process safety management program in a GMP environment. You will chair HAZOPs/LOPAs, manage MOC and permit-to-work, ensure compliance with COMAH/ATEX and Irish/EU safety rules, and collaborate with global EHS networks to drive best practice across operations.

This role requires strong communication, stakeholder management, and a proactive approach to protect people and the environment while maintaining operational

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Chemical/Process/Mechanical Engineering, Environmental Health & Safety or related field.
• Minimum 5 years of relevant process safety/EHS leadership experience in pharma or process industries.
• Strong knowledge of PSM principles, HAZOP/LOPA, ATEX, COMAH, IEC 61508/61511 and Irish/EU safety legislation.

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement and continuously improve site process safety management systems and standards.
• Lead process safety design reviews and introduce new products and processes from a safety perspective.
• Chair, facilitate and document HAZOPs, LOPAs and risk assessments; track and close actions.
