Role Overview
We are looking for an experienced Site Manager to join one of our client's site teams, a leading main contractor, on a project in County Clare. This is a full-time, permanent position offering an excellent opportunity to work on a prestigious project while developing your career with an established construction team.
Role and Responsibilities
- Supervision of all construction activities on site.
- Management of all day-to-day onsite activities.
- Maintain an accurate site diary, recording manpower levels for each subcontractor and keeping detailed notes of site activities.
- Support the Project Manager in delivering the project to the highest quality standards, on time and within budget.
- Manage, coordinate and motivate site teams and subcontractors.
- Ensure all works are carried out to the required specifications and highest standards.
- Implement and maintain the company's Safety Management System on site.
- Implement and maintain the company's Quality Management System.
- Identify and suggest improvements to increase the overall efficiency of the construction process without compromising safety or quality.
- Work to the agreed construction programme and plan future works to minimise potential delays.
- Monitor project progress and ensure key deadlines and milestones are achieved.
- Requisition materials required on site, ensuring they are ordered on time and to the correct specification.
- Liaise with subcontractors, consultants, suppliers and other members of the project team.
- Attend site and project meetings to ensure effective communication of issues affecting the day‑to‑day running of the project.
- Organise and lead daily site/whiteboard meetings.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant health & safety regulations and procedures.
Requirements
- 5+ years' site management experience within the construction industry.
- Relevant Construction, Engineering or Trades qualification.
- Previous experience working for a Main Contractor.
- Proven ability to successfully manage construction projects and site teams.
- Strong technical and practical knowledge of the construction industry.
- Excellent organisational and planning skills.
- Strong leadership and people-management abilities.
- Ability to work effectively on own initiative.
- Self‑motivated with a strong work ethic.
- Strong analytical, problem‑solving and decision‑making skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong understanding of health & safety and quality requirements within construction.
