Job summary

ICDS Recruitment Consultants Ltd is seeking a Site Engineer for Maynooth & Kilcock, North Kildare. You will be responsible for accurate setting out of works on site and ensuring construction aligns with drawings, specifications, Building Regulations.

The role acts as the technical link between the design team and site operations, maintaining quality, accuracy and up-to-date documentation to support the safe and efficient delivery of the build.

Qualifications

• A degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Management is required.
• 3–5 years post-qualification experience, preferably in residential housebuilding.
• Proficiency with GPS/Total Station for setting out.
• Full clean driving licence.

Responsibilities

• Set out works for subcontractors with gridlines and levels.
• Set out house plots and issue surveys to solicitors.
• Supervise and monitor groundworks and civil/concrete frame contractors.
• Monitor quality control for drawings, specifications and Building Regulations.
• Conduct inspections and sign-offs at key stages (foundations, DPC, frame).
• Maintain site records and QA documentation; keep them updated.
• Coordinate site drawings; ensure latest revisions are issued.
• Maintain drawing registers and communicate revisions to site team and subcontractors.
• Resolve technical queries with the design team and consultants.

Site Engineer

Required for leading residential developer undertaking new housing schemes in North Kildare.

The Site Engineer is responsible for the accurate setting out of works on site and for ensuring that construction is carried out in line with approved drawings, specifications, Building Regulations.

The role acts as the technical link between the design team and site operations, maintaining quality, accuracy, and up-to-date documentation throughout the project to support the safe and efficient delivery of the build.

Main responsibilities

• Set out works for subcontractors, providing gridlines and levels to groundworks, RC frame, foundations, floor slabs, blockwork, services, and civil works.
• Set out house plots on housing projects and issue surveys to solicitors.
• Supervise and monitor groundworks and civil engineering contractors.
• Supervise and monitor concrete frame contractors.
• Monitor and evaluate quality control of subcontractors' work, ensuring compliance with drawings, specifications, and Building Regulations.
• Conduct inspections and sign-offs at key stages (e.g. foundations, DPC, frame) before cover-up.
• Maintain site records and quality assurance documentation, keeping them up to date.
• Coordinate site drawings, ensuring the latest revisions are issued and superseded versions are removed from circulation.
• Maintain drawing registers and communicate revisions promptly to the site team and subcontractors.
• Consult with the design team and consultants to resolve technical queries and discrepancies.

Essential

• Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related discipline.
• 3–5 years' post-qualification experience (PQE), ideally within residential/housebuilding.
• Proficient in setting out using GPS/Total Station equipment.
• Full clean driving licence.
