Job summary

NexVentur group in Ireland is seeking an experienced Site Engineer to join a 55-bed apartment development in Limerick. You will work closely with the Site Manager and subcontractors to ensure works are completed safely, accurately and on programme.

Duties include setting out and surveying, coordinating subcontractors, interpreting drawings, overseeing foundations and groundworks, keeping accurate site records and supporting snagging and handover.

Qualifications

• Experience as Site Engineer on apartment, residential or commercial projects.
• Degree in Civil Engineering or related discipline.
• Strong setting-out, surveying and drawing interpretation skills.
• Experience with total stations, GPS and AutoCAD.
• Knowledge of groundworks, foundations and reinforced concrete.
• Understanding of QA and health & safety requirements.
• Valid Safe Pass and relevant safety certifications.
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Interpret architectural and structural drawings and resolve technical queries.
• Oversee groundworks, foundations, drainage, concrete works and structural elements.
• Conduct site inspections and maintain accurate site records and as-built drawings.

• Liaise with Site Manager, design team, subcontractors and suppliers.
• Monitor levels, dimensions and workmanship to meet specifications.
• Assist with short-term planning, progress reporting and daily site coordination.
• Ensure health and safety procedures on site.
• Support snagging, inspections and handover activities.

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Site Engineer to join the team on a new 55-bed apartment development in Limerick.

This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated Site Engineer with residential or commercial construction experience to play a key role in delivering a large-scale apartment development. Working closely with the Site Manager, subcontractors and the wider project team, you will help ensure works are completed safely, accurately and in line with project specifications and programme requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Carry out setting out and surveying in accordance with construction drawings and specifications.
• Coordinate subcontractors and monitor progress against the project programme.
• Interpret architectural and structural drawings and resolve technical queries.

Requirements

• Degree or relevant qualification in Civil Engineering, Construction Engineering or a related discipline.
• Strong setting-out, surveying and technical drawing interpretation skills.
• Experience with total stations, GPS equipment and AutoCAD.
• Knowledge of groundworks, foundations, reinforced concrete and structural construction.
• Understanding of quality assurance and construction health and safety requirements.
• Valid Safe Pass and relevant safety certifications.
• Strong communication, organisation and problem-solving skills.
