Job summary

Bright Machines in Cork, Ireland is hiring a Site Service Engineer / Site Automation Engineer to own the performance and reliability of robotic assembly systems at a major customer site. You will troubleshoot hardware and software, use diagnostics, and drive continuous improvement, ensuring high uptime while coordinating with remote experts and customer teams.

The role requires 5+ years in a customer-facing technical role, automation/robotics experience, and relevant technical degrees.

Qualifications

5+ years in a customer-facing technical role.
Experience in automation and robotics environments.
Associate's Degree (Mechanical or Electrical); Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
Automation, robotics, and PLC experience.
Vision systems for inspection and interpolation; MATROX/COGNEX preferred.
SolidWorks or CAD understanding; basic electrical/ pneumatic documentation.
Robust documentation skills; able to read/edit technical docs.
Experience with labeling applications and industrial printers.

Responsibilities

Own multiple robotic assembly systems at a major tech customer.
Interface with customer and manufacturing partners on system performance.
Collect and share customer feedback for continuous improvement and product roadmap.
Coordinate between remote experts and on-site field service engineers and production leads.
Use diagnostics and live data to troubleshoot hardware/software issues and drive actions.
Maintain status reports at various detail levels.
Educate customers on device operation, maintenance, and repair.
Deliver excellent customer service and address concerns promptly.
