Job summary

State Street seeks a SIEM Data Engineer to onboard and validate security telemetry across diverse sources, ensuring reliable delivery to Splunk, Databricks, and other analytics platforms.

You will work with Cyber Data Science, Security Operations, Cloud, and Platform teams to ensure data quality, proper routing, and timely incident response. Hybrid work model offered; 5+ years of related experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Master's or bachelor's degree in computer science, cybersecurity, information technology, engineering or related field.
• 5+ years in SIEM engineering or security data engineering with hands-on Splunk.
• 2+ years with Cribl Stream or similar data pipeline tech (Fluent Bit/Fluentd, Vector, Kafka, etc.).
• 2+ years with Databricks or data lakehouse platforms for telemetry validation.
• Experience onboarding, validating, and troubleshooting security telemetry from diverse sources.

Responsibilities

• Onboard security telemetry from applications, infrastructure, endpoints, networks, and cloud services.
• Define ingestion requirements, fields, metadata, routing and downstream use cases.
• Configure pipelines for parsing, filtering, enrichment, and destination routing.
• Route telemetry to Splunk, Databricks, and other platforms.
• Validate data quality across raw, enriched, and curated layers.
• Troubleshoot ingestion and data flow issues across sources and platforms.
• Provide second-line support for data engineering jobs and data delivery issues.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure telemetry supports security use cases.
