Job summary

State Street is seeking a Senior Platform Engineer to lead the design and implementation of our cloud and hybrid infrastructure across multi-region deployments. You will work within Cyber Architecture & Engineering to build scalable platforms and drive reliability.

You will mentor platform engineers, automate toil, and shape the toolchain with CI/CD, IaC, and observability. Expect collaboration across teams to deliver secure, high‑throughput data analytics platforms and rapid incident response.

Qualifications

• 8+ years in production engineering and management (deployment, release, maintenance, migration).
• 8+ years in developing production code using Python, Golang, Ruby, or JavaScript.
• 5+ years in medium to large-scale production infrastructure management on AWS, GCP, or Azure.
• Experience building and managing cybersecurity platforms (Splunk, Sentinel, ELK, Databricks, etc.).
• Strong expertise in automation and IaC using Terraform, CloudFormation, Pulumi, AWS CDK or similar tools.
• Deep knowledge of CI/CD tools (Jenkins, Harness, Spinnaker, Argo CD) and pipelines.

Responsibilities

• Architect cloud & hybrid infrastructure across cloud providers and on-premises with multi-region HA & DR.
• Participate in Site Reliability Engineering practices and automate toil away.
• Mentor Platform Engineers and share knowledge sessions.
• Scale systems via automation to improve reliability and velocity.
• Practice sustainable incident response and blameless postmortems.
• Lead the technical vision for platforms owned by Platform Engineering with end-to-end ownership.
• Develop software tools for deployment, monitoring, alerting and operations automation.
• Maintain live services by measuring availability, latency, and performance.
• Design and build petabyte-scale data analytics tooling emphasizing security and privacy.
• Collaborate across teams to scale data systems for various business needs.
