Danone Infant Nutrition Macroom Ltd seeks a Shift Manager to lead the production team at Macroom, coordinating daily targets, ensuring quality, safety, GMP and cost control while supporting the Plant Manager as needed.

Ideal candidates have 2+ years in production management within food manufacturing, SAP/MES/SCADA familiarity and strong MS Office skills; a related degree is desirable. This is a full-time on-site role with a comprehensive benefits package.

Qualifications

• 2+ years experience in a management/supervisory role in the food manufacturing Industry is required.
• Microsoft Office proficiency is required.
• SAP/MES/SCADA experience is highly desirable.
• Third level qualification in a related field is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Lead the Shift Team to achieve production targets/KPIs.
• Ensure the highest standards of product quality, integrity and hygiene.
• Maintain Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) and Good Housekeeping.
• Monitor and control costs.
• Ensure safe working practices for the team, contractors and visitors.
• Train and manage the team to work safely and effectively.
• Maintain positive working relationships and effective communication at all levels.
• Ensure proper maintenance of all areas and equipment under your control.
• Drive improvements in product quality and process efficiency.
• Coordinate with QA, QC, logistics, technical and maintenance teams to achieve optimum results.
• Interface with HR regarding performance and development.

About The Job

Danone Infant Nutrition Macroom Ltd is a division of the Danone Group with the overall Group employing 100,000 talents in over 60 countries worldwide. Macroom Supply Point is a strategic spray drying factory within the division, being a major supplier of infant formula to other plants within the network.

Shift Managers are responsible for the overall leadership, direction and coordination of Production employees. The Shift Manager will manage shift employees to achieve key business objectives of product quality, order fulfilment, OEE, labour efficiency, health and safety and budget control. The Shift Manager will also act as cover in the absence of the Plant manager and support the Plant Manager in Operations as appropriate.

Responsibilities

• Lead the Shift Team to achieve production targets/KPIs
• Ensure the highest standards of product quality, integrity and hygiene
• Maintain excellent standards of Good Manufacturing Practice and Good Housekeeping Practice
• Monitor and control costs
• Ensure the safe working practices and conduct of the team, contractors and visitors
• Ensure that team are properly trained and managed to work in a safe, quality conscious and effective way
• Maintain positive working relationships and ensure effective communication at all levels
• Ensure all work areas and equipment within your control are regularly and properly maintained to deliver optimum performance
• Drive initiatives to maximise employee contribution and drive improvements in product quality and process/system efficiencies
• Liaise with QA & QC, logistics, technical and maintenance teams to achieve optimum results
• Responsible for Danone Internal Controls as assigned to you by the Internal Controller
• Interface with HR in relation to employee performance/development and any employee relations issues
• Update relevant HR systems as required
• The Shift Manager will be expected to cover for the Production Manager when absent and support the Production Manager in other areas of production
• Contribute to the overall department performance plan in the areas of Safety, Quality, Cost, Delivery, Motivation and Environment
• Drive correct usage, maintenance and development of all production systems

Experience

• 2+ years experience in a management/supervisory role in the food manufacturing Industry is required
• Third level qualification in a related field is desirable
• SAP/MES/Scada experience highly desirable
• A strong understanding of Microsoft Office is required
• Proven problem solving and troubleshooting skills
