Job summary

Global Professional Consultants is seeking a Setting Out Engineer to join a leading Main Contractor in Galway. You will set out foundations, roads, drainage and services across Galway and Mayo, using Total Station and GPS/GNSS. The role requires proficiency in AutoCAD, interpretation of civil drawings, and delivering accurate as-built surveys while maintaining QA and safety standards. A relevant Civil Engineering/Surveying qualification and a full Irish driving licence are essential.

Qualifications

• Previous setting out experience on residential or housing developments.
• Proficiency in Total Station, GPS/GNSS and AutoCAD.
• Strong understanding of civil engineering drawings, groundworks and drainage.
• Relevant qualification in Civil Engineering/Surveying or equivalent site experience.
• Full Irish driving licence.
• Strong communication skills and attention to detail.

Job description

Setting Out Engineer required to join a leading Main Contractor in Galway. This client has a large pipeline of work. The successful Site Engineer will be working on residential and housing developments across Galway and Mayo.

Role:

• Setting out foundations, roads, drainage and services using Total Station and GPS/GNSS equipment.
• Interpreting engineering drawings and site plans.
• Carrying out as-built surveys and maintaining accurate site records.
• Liaising with site management, subcontractors and design teams.
• Ensuring works meet quality and health & safety standards.
