Job description

Overview

Service Delivery Manager – BUMBLEance

BUMBLEance is Ireland’s only dedicated Children’s Ambulance Service. We make a difference by empowering families unable to access their child’s healthcare by providing nationwide journeys in a safe, caring and fun environment, completely free of charge.

At BUMBLEance, our heroes wear seatbelts – not capes. Our drivers operate a fleet across the country, offering personal, local support to every family that travels with us. Each vehicle provides a break from the outside world with sensory lighting, child-friendly décor, entertainment and space for parents and siblings.

By offering door-to-door journeys, we reduce the worry and anxiety for parents. Without the stress of managing comfort, parking, tolls and logistics, BUMBLEance lets parents focus on caring for their child.

The Role

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Service Delivery Manager to oversee our nationwide fleet of specialist children’s ambulances and lead our team of drivers and fleet coordinators. This is a critical leadership role responsible for ensuring our vehicles are safe, reliable, and road-ready. You’ll be responsible for the day-to-day management of our services, driving operational excellence, and ensuring that every child’s journey is safe, caring and fun.

Key Responsibilities and Duties
  • Services Management
  • Oversee daily operations of our 15-vehicle fleet across Ireland.
  • Ensure vehicles meet all safety, compliance, and maintenance standards.
  • Liaise with service providers and garages for repairs, inspections, and servicing.
  • Manage onboard technology systems for diagnostics and reporting.
  • Maintain onboard service provisions.
  • Lead, mentor, and support a team of drivers and fleet coordinators.
  • Manage rosters, holiday scheduling, and driver coverage for all regions.
  • Handle driver queries, challenges and ensure morale stays high.
  • Data & Systems
  • Use Acetech vehicle management system to monitor and analyse fleet performance.
  • Maintain detailed vehicle logs, compliance documentation, fuel reporting, and journey data.
  • Provide regular fleet performance reports to the General Manager.
  • Hospital Coordination & Relationships
  • Act as a key liaison between BUMBLEance, hospitals, hospices, and family contacts.
  • Ensure pickups and drop-offs are well-planned and executed smoothly.
  • Work closely with bookings team to ensure journey plans are accurate and efficient.
  • Fleet Design & Delivery
  • Play an active role in the design, fit-out and delivery of new vehicles.
  • Liaise with conversion partners and medical equipment suppliers.
  • Provide insight and feedback on how to improve the child and family experience onboard.
Key Skills and Competencies
  • 3+ years’ experience in a similar role.
  • Proven experience managing a team.
  • Category C1 driving licence.
  • Strong working knowledge of vehicle compliance, safety, and preventative maintenance.
  • Excellent problem-solving, organisation, and leadership skills.
  • Comfortable using fleet management software and analysing data.
Personal Qualities
  • Empathetic and child-centred — you believe in our mission.
  • Calm under pressure with a proactive approach to challenges.
  • A natural people-person who leads with kindness and clarity.
  • Passionate about logistics with a sharp eye for detail.
Perks of the Job
  • Be part of a mission-driven, heart-led organisation.
  • Hybrid working model (mix of Dublin office and remote work).
  • Opportunity to make a real and lasting impact on families across Ireland.
  • Work with a warm and collaborative team.
  • Training and development opportunities.
