Partner Company in Ireland seeks a Senior Unity VR Engineer to design and implement the client-side architecture powering immersive VR training simulations. You will build scalable, reusable components that support multiple simulations and future platforms, collaborating with backend teams to ensure accurate server-driven behavior across devices.

You will lead performance optimization, developer tooling, and AI-assisted workflows, shaping a product from the ground up in a fast-moving startup.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional Unity and C# experience.
• Experience designing large Unity projects with reusable infrastructure.
• Experience developing VR for Android-based devices (Meta Quest preferred).
• Ability to build generic, reusable client-side infrastructure.
• Experience with client-server integration and API contracts.
• Strong debugging, performance and scalability skills.
• Familiarity with AI-assisted development and automated validation is a plus.
• Adaptable, ownership-driven, startup mindset.
• Excellent English communication in a distributed team.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain Unity VR client architecture supporting multiple simulations.
• Implement client-server integration reflecting server state on devices.
• Co-design APIs and data contracts with backend engineers.
• Develop scalable frameworks and reusable components for the training platform.
• Create VR apps for Android devices with stable functionality across hardware.
• Identify and fix performance bottlenecks and optimize runtime.
• Build tooling for content creators and developers to streamline workflows.
• Integrate AI coding assistants and establish validation pipelines.
• Make pragmatic architectural decisions in a dynamic startup environment.
• Communicate technical decisions clearly within a remote, multicultural team.
