Job summary

Elastic is seeking a Senior Software Engineer for the Streams UI team to shape and enhance our UI, making it more intuitive and engaging for users. You will design UI components in TypeScript/React, own complex problems, and drive architecture discussions focused on performance and scale.

You will collaborate with designers, product managers, and a distributed team across time zones, promoting reusable components, automated tests, and best practices to raise overall code quality.

Qualifications

• Experience with full-stack JavaScript, especially TypeScript, React and Node.js.
• Proven ability to own complex UI projects end-to-end with design ownership.
• Strong architecture and system-design judgment in large codebases.
• Experience using AI-assisted development tools is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement intuitive UI components using TS/React for Streams UI.
• Own end-to-end problems, define approach, split work, and deliver.
• Lead architecture discussions, balancing performance and scale.
• Promote reusable components, implement tests and deployment, and document best practices.
• Review code, identify security issues, and mentor teammates.
• Collaborate asynchronously across time zones with a distributed team.
• Work with designers and product managers to translate mockups into UI.
