Job summary

Elastic is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join our Streams UI team, shaping Fleet and Streams UI in Kibana. You will design and implement intuitive UI components using TypeScript, React, and Node.js, delivering a seamless experience across distributed systems.

Collaborate across time zones with a fully distributed team on GitHub and Slack, mentor teammates, and drive architectural decisions while maintaining code quality and security.

Qualifications

• Strong production experience with full-stack JavaScript, preferably TypeScript; React on the front end and Node.js on the back end.
• Experience leading non-trivial projects end-to-end with design ownership.
• Proficient architecture and system-design judgment in large codebases.
• Designed and launched multiple UI components increasing user engagement.
• Experience using AI-assisted development tools.
• Excellent written and verbal communication; comfortable with async collaboration.
• Multiplier mindset and ability to uplift engineers.
• Generalist with user-focused mindset.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement intuitive UI components using TypeScript, React, and Node.js; ensure seamless integration with back-end services.
• Own complex, loosely-defined problems end-to-end; shape the approach and deliver.
• Lead architecture and system design discussions, considering trade-offs, performance, and scale.
• Establish coding standards; promote reusable components; enable automated testing and deployment; document best practices.
• Conduct thorough code reviews; identify security concerns; maintain code readability and team collaboration.
• Collaborate asynchronously across timezones with a distributed team on GitHub and Slack.
• Partner with designers and product managers to create consistent UI and translate mockups into code.
