Job summary

Morgan McKinley is partnering with a leading Financial Services Group to recruit an experienced Technology Risk & Resilience Expert. The role requires 10+ years in second line or independent risk oversight, focusing on Technology Risk, IT Risk and Cyber Risk within financial services.

You will define and embed risk taxonomy, oversee the Technology Risk Management Framework, and challenge first line assessments, ensuring robust governance and regulatory alignment across multi-entity environments.

Qualifications

• Post-secondary degree in technology, business or related discipline plus CRISC/CISSP/CISM qualification
• Fluency with frameworks such as NIST CSF, ISO 27001/27002, COBIT to facilitate an oversight role
• Professional qualification in risk or a related discipline would be preferred but not essential

Responsibilities

• Provide independent second line oversight of Technology Risk (IT & Information Security) within the firm, ensuring integration with the 2LOD framework
• Assess, challenge, and provide assurance over how technology risks are identified, managed, and reported by the first line
• Define and embed Technology Risk within the Operational Risk Taxonomy and Framework with clear 1LOD vs 2LOD delineation
• Provide independent 2LOD oversight of the Technology Risk Management Framework and its alignment with first-line control frameworks
• Support maturation of a service-based view of technology risk mapping to business services
• Review first line identification and assessment of technology risks across applications, infrastructure and third-party ICT services
• Assess quality and completeness of Technology Risk Registers, control inventories, incident remediation and impact analysis
• Provide credible 2LOD challenge where risk assessments or residual risk conclusions lack support
• Contribute to resilience testing and scenario analysis from a technology dependency perspective
• Governance & Reporting, Third Party & Technology Dependency Risk
