Job summary

Qualifications

• Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.
• 5+ years’ experience working within a consultancy in Ireland.
• Thorough knowledge of Eurocodes and Irish Building Regulations.
• Chartered Engineer (C.Eng.) or actively working towards chartership is highly desirable.
• Experience using structural analysis software (e.g. Tekla Structural Designer, MasterSeries, Robot or similar).
• AutoCAD and ideally Revit knowledge.
• Good communication and project coordination skills.
• A collaborative mindset with the ability to mentor and develop less experienced engineers.

Responsibilities

Role Description

The Senior Structural Engineer is a full-time, on-site position based in Roscommon. This role involves leading structural design projects, performing detailed structural analysis and calculations, and reviewing drawings and specifications to ensure compliance with applicable codes and standards. The Senior Structural Engineer collaborates closely with civil engineers, architects, and project managers to develop coordinated design solutions for buildings and infrastructure. Daily responsibilities include overseeing CAD output, providing technical guidance to junior team members, preparing technical reports, and supporting clients with clear, professional communication throughout the project lifecycle. The position also contributes to quality assurance, risk assessment, and continuous improvement of design processes.
